A PROBUS Club is a local association of retired and semi-retired PROfessional and BUSiness people, and others who have had some measure of responsibility in any field of worthy endeavour. Warlingham and District Probus Club meets monthly, on the 4th Wednesday at the Woldingham Golf Club for lunch 12 noon for 1.00pm normally followed by a talk or presentation. New members are very welcome. Fill in the feedback form here to find out more. We would love to hear from you.

At the Warlingham and District Probus Club AGM on Wednesday, March 22 a resolution was passed to permit ladies to join the club on the same basis as men. Warlingham and District Probus Club was formed in 1988 with the objective of promoting fellowship amongst retired and semi-retired professionals and businessmen. Ladies were invited to attend just a few special events but not the normal monthly club meeting. The club is now keen to welcome retired and semi-retired professional and business people, of both sexes, who would like to join the club. Says newly elected chairman Angus Bransby: “I am really pleased that the membership voted overwhelmingly to change our rules and admit women, it will bring a refreshing new dimension to our meetings and add a new energy to the club. “We would love to hear from any potential male or female members. We take a very broad interpretation of the definition of ‘professional and business’. The only real restriction is that members should be 55 or over.” The club meets once a month for a social drink, lunch and to listen to a speaker at Woldingham Golf Club. Meetings are from noon on the fourth Wednesday of each month. The club also organises a variety of outings to interesting locations during the year. Planned trips include Chatham Historical Dockyard and Gatwick Aviation Museum. Ends
